Mersen has mastered solid, lining or cladded tantalum fabrication processes for decades. Mersen has developed a patented cladding technology, CL-Clad® already experienced on various Tantalum columns.

Tantalum columns are suitable in very corrosive environment such as:

  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Sulfuric acid
  • Nitric acid
  • Strong organic acids
  • Bromine
  • Epichlorydrin

One of the main applications of tantalum columns is the HCl stripping at high pressure.

CL-Clad key features:

  • Design pressure up to 25 barG
  • Vacuum resistance
  • Design temperature up to 250°C
  • Tantalum thickness: 0.5 to 0.7 mm
